How does this impact only one party?

Why? Ultrapartisanship is amusing.

Hillary really is a horrible candidate though, the Democratic party has better options. Jim Webb being one

You guys missed the point. It's not just a republican thing. Even though this election will make it appear to be. It's about the fact that a few ultra sugar daddies can select your future candidates. And it's not just the Kochs.

I don't buy that. No pun intended. No advertising can sway my vote. Nor do I think yours. In 2012 it didn't work. Why would we now assume differently. Because the left doesn't like the decision. That's why.

I personally feel that if any of these billionaires want to run the country, they should grow a pair and run for office. Buying a surrogate seems like the easy way out.

was Obama bought? Bush? The candidate won't be bought. The voters will. And if voters decide an election based on a billboard, that should be another conversation.

PLC,, Yes they were bought. At least to some extent. Now it's just blatant. The sugar daddies hold a press conference. It's like an NFL owner signing a new quarterback.

It's interesting. I have very little confidence in any news outlet to bring me objective, accurate information. I'm not sure if the sugar daddies did that, but billboards are now just as useful as anything else.

sure you can dig through the trash to find articles that sound objective...Then compare and contrast those articles, read between the lines, and perhaps come up with an opinion that feels informed.

@PLC - they ads may not convince people to vote FOR candidate X, but they could convince you to vote AGAINST candidate X. And it has worked in the past, i.e. swiftboating Kerry.

It just seems as though, no matter how honorable a candidate might be, he would end up representing his benefactor tather than his constituents.

Jc, I think contradiction is inevitable, but only for a portion of the population I am all for campaign finance reform, but it won't stand a chance to happen until both the Democrats and Republicans stop winning OR a self funded candidate wins.
