Unless the public suddenly really starts caring, this was a virtuous but stupid business decision

Not necessarily. We don't know their future plans. Once they headquarter overseas, they become a foriegn company. That carries a lot of restrictions regarding future mergers. But who knows. They may have done it for the reasons stated.

it amazes me how companies would rather put gluten free on their food and not made in America. take some asprin gluten free, marketed for Wal-Mart stores, Bentonville Arkansas.

Gluten free is important to those who have gluten allergies. Made in America means something but sometimes only 50% of something.

jc, you're right we don't know but in the article it says the main reasons it didn't do it were out of fear of IRS litigation and loss of government contract

The IRS litigation is something that seems like it might exist anyways. Our government does business with foreign based companies on a regular basis and they would still be supporting tons of American jobs
