Anyone aware of the state bans on the sale of Teslas? New jersey is the latest. http://www.wired.com/business/2014/03/tesla-banned-ensure-process-buying-car-keeps-sucking/

It is simultaneously anti - business and anti - consumer. The fact is that as Tesla grows they will naturally move to traditional dealer structure. By banning dealerships you are poking a stick in the eye of economic advancement.

The major car manufactures aren't weighing in on this issue. I think they could adopt the Tesla sales strategy, should Tesla eventually win.

It should be up to the manufacturer if they want to sell direct or through a dealer network. Both have their advantages. Government shouldn't be involved at all in this decision, much less picking a side.

I would bet that Tesla builds a dealer network as their demand grows. Their focus will be on product and infrastructure development.

Could be. But this is a pretty flagrant example of regulation inspired by a business lobby. Definitely intended to prevent competition.

It takes two to tango. One to buy and one to be bought. I like Tesla, I want them to succeed. If they have the ambition, government should no more inhibit than they should assist.

Tesla would have been a great investment. Up about 500% in the last twelve months.

Still a great one imo, once they release a practical car under $40k sales will take off. A long range, affordable electric car is the future. Always has been, but the technology had to catch up with the vision. It's almost there

Crony capitalism Hell Texas even did it, the dealerships done made it illegal to buy direct, like I've said in previous post, we don't know what a free market is, because non of us ever lived in a free market, the best thing we have is the internet.

People try to say Free Markets and Capitalism has failed . problem is we don't have that.We have a Crony Capitalist, Socialist, Facial soup. Free Market would solve a lot, because if we had real competition instead of regulations that help create

I understood, but it sounded so funny. I doubt we could have a true free market anymore than we can have a working anarchy.

Too many Banks, Corporations and Politicians in bed together. So having a True Free Market wouldn't be in their best interest
