So according to Obama, its NOT ok for you to defend you're own life in your own home with a gun, BUT its perfectly fine to have tax payer funded armed guards follow him and his family around for their entire lives....

so what legislation is Obama proposing now that contradicts his recent statements about the value of armed protection? remember his residents was shot at by an AK47, so a change of heart is understandable

Its coming. And if he can't get the upcoming unconstitutional gun control passed, he will attempt to do it via executive order (an even worse constitutional abuse)

So who proposed the bill? Obama? No. Is this a new thing? No. The first president effected by the change WOULD have been bush 2

In the article is says, bush would have been the first since the original bill in 1965 not to recurve lifetime protection. So it seems he will also be covered in this new bill. Bush2 would have been the first since then to only get 10 years.

A president doesn't need lifetime protection. If they want it beyond 10 years, let them pay for it themselves.

You completely missed the point. He supports armed protection for himself (at tax payer expense) and does not support it for you or me, even limited to within ones own home.

I think were past the point where we can even think about taking guns. I also think gun advokes are correct in thinking if if you take guns only the bad guys will have them.

I do think the background checks are very important as to not allow them purposely into the wrong hands, but at the same time i am not ignorant enough to think that person can get agun if they really want to. Especially of they are willing to operate

Outside of the law. If i am in The mall i hope there are multiple people with concealed weapons because if some crazy does start shooting they at least have a chance to stop them

That being said, again i have no issue with making it difficult to get one. Registry? Not sure on that one yet. Mostly because again it is geared towards law abiding citizens when those people aren't the problem.

And i wasn't bringing bush into this, just pointing out what the article said on this legislation. I don't think Obama has any intention of taking guns away. And haven't Seen or heard anything to change that. I think the gun lobby, and Nra are taking

Full advantage off any talk on any type of gun reform as he is going to take our guns. I don't blame them. It is paying off really well.

I don't think our presidents should have secret service protection their entire lives. The 1990s reform law was a good idea, it's a shame it got repealed.
